A Chinese proverb says an invisible red thread connects those destined to meet, despite the time, the place, despite the circumstances. The thread can be tightened or tangle, but never be broken.
Sometimes I feel pressured during breaks (and even during school, actually) to catch up with evvveryone. Pack people back into my life lest we drift apart further.
I feel like I did not see certain people as often as I wanted to (and some, at all).
But I don’t worry about that. I hate the word “relationship” because it feels like something that needs to be maintained and worked on. But kindred spirits are kindred spirits. People meet where they need to and connections just happen. Part randomly, part through the whatever ancient proverb or forces of the universe you believe in, and part because the people you value, love, and are attracted to at that moment are exactly the people you need in your life at that moment.
People come to your life. Sometimes they stay. Sometimes they leave. Sometimes they come back.
Sometimes, they won’t be or can’t be what you thought they were or what you want them to be.
Let them.
And love the people crazy enough to love you back.
Try to love people first.
People. Not relationships. People.

If the thread is invisible, how can it also be red?
